An 18-year-old Davenport woman who police say had sex with a 12-year-old boy pleaded guilty Wednesday to lesser charges.
Lindsey M. Brix, who also pleaded guilty last week to an unrelated first-degree theft charge, will be sentenced for both crimes Dec. 30. She faces 10 years in prison for the felony theft charge and two years for the charge of indecent contact with a child, an aggravated misdemeanor.
Before pleading guilty, Brix was set to go to trial Monday on third-degree sex abuse, a Class C felony in Iowa that is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
Brix has been in the Scott County Jail since her arrest on May 27.
According to a Davenport Police Department complaint, Brix had sex with a 12-year-old boy while they were under a bridge in the 300 block of South Clark Street, Davenport. The incident occurred about 3 p.m. April 1.
The theft occurred May 17, court records state.
