Police arrested three Davenport men Monday night after responding to several calls of shots being fired in the same location.
Police arrested Kevin Green, 28, and David Schmidt, 19, both of 231 S. Pine St., and Zachery Labarre, 20, of 14100 112th Ave.
Green is charged with intimidation with a dangerous weapon and second-degree burglary, both Class C felonies. Green, Schmidt and Labarre are charged with conspiracy to commit a felony, a Class D felony.
Green is in custody at the Scott County Jail. Schmidt and Labarre were released from jail Tuesday morning.
Davenport police responded to the 2000 block of West 4th Street after receiving several 911 calls at 9:59 p.m. that shots were fired in the area and seeing a person with a gun chasing two others in an alley between 4th and 5th streets, Assistant Police Chief Don Schaeffer said.
According to a police report from Schaeffer:
Green attempted to purchase marijuana from two people in the alley and handed over $220. When he didn’t get the drugs, he chased the two people and fired a 9mm semi-automatic handgun at them.
Green ran to a car, occupied by Schmidt, and drove to his residence at 231 S. Pine. He left the gun at the residence and returned to the scene. He entered a house that the two individuals with the money escaped into, at 2019 W. 5th St., found both individuals and began assaulting them.
Green suffered minor injuries during the fight and was taken to Genesis Medical Center, East Rusholme Street, Davenport, for treatment. He then was placed under arrest and transported to the Scott County Jail.
Police executed a search warrant at 231 S. Pine and seized a 9mm semi-automatic Ruger handgun.
Labarre was one of the two individuals chased by Green in the alley.
Police are not identifying the second individual at this time because the investigation will require further follow-up and charges are pending on that individual, Schaeffer said.
