A man wearing a ski mask used a gun to rob a Davenport Subway restaurant about 9:50 p.m. Thursday, police said.

The man walked into the restaurant at 902 W. Kimberly Road and demanded money and made the clerk lie on the ground, police said.

Police combed the area late Thursday looking for the vehicle in which the robber fled.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the Davenport Police Department at 563-326-7979 or Crime Stoppers of the Quad-Cities at 309-762-9500.

I wonder how much dough he made off with.

this is how it went: Masked man said, "give me all you foot longs, cookies, chips, maybe a large soda, and the 34 bucks in the till Mr. Sandwich artist if you please!"

Grouchy Old Fart

I hope they catch the individual before they get nervous and/or scared and shoot someone. I agree with iowalittedog's comment "We all know it's that time of the year, people get desperate." I hope we don't see a rash of crime breakout as seems to be the norm this time of year.

If the police were looking for certain kind of car, then why not put the car description in the news? Also if I am correct there should be cameras in the area, showing the person leaving and what kind of car. We all know it's that time of the year, people get desperate.

Would have been nice to mention a description of the car and a best possible description of the robber (height, weight, race, etc).

Hey, This idiot must not know Iowa has concealed carry. Wait till he robs the wrong store. lol

First Caseys now Subway, wonder if it is the same guy?? I can't imagine how frightening this was for the clerk. I hope they catch him fast!
