A 25-year-old Davenport woman is facing arson and fraud charges after authorities said she set a fire in her rental home to collect money from her renter’s insurance policy.

Davenport Fire Marshal Mike Hayman said that about 11 a.m. Aug. 2, firefighters were sent to 2408 Pacific St.

Firefighters arriving on the scene reported smoke and fire were visible. The fire was quickly knocked down, and there were no injuries, Hayman said.

An investigation by Hayman and the Davenport Police indicated the fire had been set.
