A preliminary hearing has been set for Tuesday for a Blue Grass man who was arrested Monday in Rock Island while naked, covered in cooking spray and allegedly in possession of methamphetamine.

Chad William Forber, 41, faces charges of possession of less than five grams of methamphetamine, resisting a peace officer and possession of drug paraphernalia. A charge of lewd exposure was dismissed.

Officers responded to the call of a naked man at 3:27 a.m. Monday in the 2200 block of 3rd Avenue, where they found Forber carrying a pair of shorts.

Forber told police he had been dropped off on 11th Street. He had covered himself in cooking spray and was holding the can under his arm.

“He said he was looking for a place to party,” Rock Island Police Chief Jeff VenHuizen said.

Forber is being held in the Rock Island County Jail on $40,000 bond. His case has been assigned to the public defender’s office.

He's pretty confident the charges won't "stick" though.
