A Moline man was arrested Jan. 5 after police say he stole money from an East Moline business late last month.
Julius Joseph Delgado, 49, is charged with one count of theft of more than $10,000, a Class 2 felony punishable by three to seven years in prison.
Bond was set at $50,000, according to court records. He has a preliminary hearing Tuesday.
East Moline police received a report of a robbery on Dec. 30 at Jewel-Osco.
Lt. Darren Gault said Delgado had approached a clerk at the customer service center and demanded money. No weapon was displayed or inferred, he said.
Delgado fled the store after the clerk handed over the money, Gault said.
Detectives viewed store surveillance video and past transactions to identify the suspect, he said. Detectives later obtained a search warrant for Delgado’s residence in the 1700 block of 53rd Street in Moline and recovered a large amount of money, Gault said.
