An 18-year-old Moline man’s five-year prison sentence for lascivious acts with a child was suspended Thursday in Scott County District Court, Davenport.

Scott County District Judge Mark Cleve placed Bryce A. Moreno on three years of probation for the Class D felony. Cleve also ordered Moreno to register as an Iowa sex offender.

One count of third-degree sex abuse was dismissed at his sentencing.

Moreno admitted at a plea hearing last month to “smacking” the 13-year-old victim for the purpose of sexual satisfaction. The act occurred at least once in July 2011, when Moreno was 17 years old.

His attorney, Eric Puryear, said the incident occurred in Scott County. Moreno was arrested by Davenport police on Oct. 3, 2011.

I believe Poppy that this was about a 17 year old Boy who smacked a 13 year old girl on the butt.. No his actions were not appropriate, but surely not an act that calls for castration.
