Update: Suspect has been identified and is in custody. Charges are pending as detectives review the case with Rock Island County State's Attorney.


Earlier report: Moline police are asking the public’s help in identifying a woman who robbed another woman outside of the Genesis Medical Health Complex on Wednesday.

Moline Police Detective Scott Williams said that at about 2:11 p.m., a woman leaving the Genesis Medical complex, located at 3900 28th Ave., was followed by another woman.

When the victim reached her vehicle, the other woman ripped the victim’s purse from her hands. A struggle ensued with the victim suffering injuries, Williams said.

The suspect is described as a white woman wearing a pink sweater. The suspect left with the purse in an SUV believed to be a newer Ford Escape.

Anyone who can identify the woman is asked to call Crime Stoppers of the Quad-City Area at 309-762-9500 and leave an anonymous tip. Crimes Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
