Moline police are investigating a shots-fired incident involving two vehicles chasing each other.

Police were called to the 2500 block of 5th Street at 5:06 p.m., Wednesday, after a report of shots fired.

Numerous witnesses told officers arriving on the scene that a silver Ford Taurus and a gold Honda were chasing each other at a high rate of speed.

It was reported that the occupants in one of the vehicles were shooting at the other.

The vehicles continued to chase each other until the  Honda crashed in the 400 block of 27th Avenue. Witnesses say three male/blacks in their early 20s then fled on foot.

Moline police were assisted by the Rock Island Police and Silvis Police Departments as an extensive search of the area was conducted. The occupants of the vehicle were not located.

The silver Ford Taurus was not located. Area hospitals were checked but police have not located any gunshot victims.

During the incident a resident’s vehicle was struck by a bullet and sustained damage.

There have been no arrests made at this time.
