ALEDO, Ill. — An NFL free agent has been placed on 12 months court supervision and fined $1,000 after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor criminal trespass charge in Mercer County Circuit Court.

Darrin Reaves, 24, was arrested last month in Aledo following a disturbance with two women. As part of his plea Monday, two Class 4 felony counts of unlawful restraint were dismissed against the Birmingham, Alabama, native. Mercer County State’s Attorney Meeghan Lee said Reaves had a prior relationship with one of the women and both filed order of protections against him shortly after his arrest last month. The plea agreement also calls for Reaves to complete a mental health evaluation.

Reaves rushed for more than 2,300 yards in three seasons at the University of Alabama-Birmingham. He played for the Carolina Panthers in 2014 and was on the Kansas City Chiefs practice roster from 2015 to 2017 before being released following an injury. He currently is listed as an unsigned free agent.
