Another Clinton resident has been charged in connection with a case involving neglected pit bulls in Clinton.
Thomas Mauk, 34, of Clinton, was charged with nine counts of animal neglect Tuesday.
Here's what what happened, according to a news release from Clinton police:
The Clinton Humane Society asked Clinton police for assistance about 7:15 p.m. Feb. 21 at 422 4th Ave. North to remove pit bull dogs from a residence.
Police found eight live dogs and one dead dog in the home that was without heat, power or water. The dogs were covered in feces and blood.
An owner of the home told police the dogs were fighting inside the residence and she could not control them, so she called for help. The other dogs killed the deceased dog, she said.
The owner allowed the dogs to be removed and taken to the Humane Society.
