A Clinton man faces charges in a robbery of a convenience store.

The incident occurred at 10:18 p.m., Jan. 6, at the Shell Express Lane, 500 N. 2nd St., Clinton.

According to witnesses at the scene, a male entered the store, picked up a couple of items and approached the checkout counter. The suspect then walked behind the counter, displayed a knife and demanded money from the clerk.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect exited the store and fled on foot.

Officers were able to locate the man at a nearby residence.

Joseph R. Little, 38, was charged with robbery in the first degree, a class B felony.

The case remains under investigation by the Clinton Police Department.
