A woman has been treated and released from the hospital after another woman stabbed her in the back of the head and neck last week in Davenport, police said Monday.

The 24-year-old victim suffered five stab wounds Jan. 27 and received stitches and staples. Davenport Police Capt. Dale Sievert said the injuries were not life-threatening.

Meanwhile, police picked up 27-year-old Marrekia A. Thompson in Rock Island and brought her to the Scott County Jail, where she was in custody Monday on a willful injury charge. The charge is a Class D felony that is punishable by up to five years in prison.

Police responded to Thompson’s home at 2502 Rockingham Road, Davenport, at 3:49 a.m. Jan. 27 and discovered that she had stabbed the victim numerous times with a knife, her arrest affidavit states.

The Quad City's is a very ugly and dangerous place

Try living in New York or Chicago! The Quad Cities is a walk in the park compared to those places. This is a peaceful place compared to the rest of the US. Randogg, this must be the only place you have lived in? Even Peoria can't compare to the tranquility the QCA brings to a person. I just love going out to West Lake fishing or any of the other fishing spots. This is a nice place, just have a few bad apples like most cities.
