“I wasn’t that drunk,” a 23-year-old Davenport woman told police after allegedly crashing into the side of a building early Wednesday.

Police say that just past midnight, Tiffany Lynn Burmeister was driving a 1999 Ford Crown Victoria drunk in the 500 block of Iowa Street, Davenport, lost control and crashed into the building.

She wasn’t injured, but police found her with bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and an odor of alcohol, according to her arrest affidavit. She also was unsteady on her feet, the affidavit states.

She refused to take a standardized field sobriety test or to give a breath sample, the affidavit states.

Burmeister is charged with operating while intoxicated, open container, no insurance, fraudulent use of registration and failure to maintain control, all misdemeanors.

She’s also charged with two felony counts claiming she violated her probation on a previous drug conviction.

Burmeister was convicted of furnishing controlled substances to inmates on May 11, 2011. The judge suspended her five-year prison sentence in favor of four years of supervised probation.
