CEDAR FALLS — Two Quad-City residents have been arrested and accused of using teenagers to steal thousands of dollars worth of clothing from a Cedar Falls store.

Athena Patricia Jean Kennedy, 33, of Bettendorf and Trai Terrell Anderson, 22, of Davenport, were charged Saturday with second-degree theft, using a juvenile to commit an offense and possession of marijuana.

Cedar Falls police were called to Von Maur at College Square on Saturday afternoon after store staff reported three people leaving without paying for merchandise. Officers stopped their vehicle in the 3800 block of University Avenue and found clothing with price tags attached.

Store officials said the clothing totaled $4,402.

Police said Kennedy, her 16-year-old son and a 16-year-old girl took items from the store, and Anderson was driving the vehicle. The 16-year-old girl was found to be missing from Davenport, court records state.

Anderson was released from the Black Hawk County Jail on Sunday, and Kennedy remains in jail with bond set at $20,000.
