Some will run for the first time
Among the Bix runners this Saturday will be Jacob McGrath, a former active-duty member of the U.S. Marine Corps who's come a long way since he spent the first weeks of his life hooked up to a high-frequency oscillating ventilator at the neonatal intensive care unit at University Hospitals in Iowa City.
While others can't stop
Also pounding up Brady Street will be Bill Rodgers, who marks his 38th crossing of the Bix finish line Saturday. Rodgers estimates he's logged as many as 180,000 miles over 50 years of distance running.
