Davenport police officers promoted

Chief Frank Donchez has announced the promotion of two Davenport police officers, who will be honored in a ceremony at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the community room of the police department headquarters. He also will introduce newly hired civilian staff members and new Volunteers in Police Services and recognize two recently retired officers.

Promotions — Cpl. James Garrard promoted to sergeant after 19 years with the department. He will be assigned to night shift patrol division and serve as K-9 Unit supervisor. Officer Seth Farley promoted to corporal after five years with the department, assigned to night shift patrol division. 

Retirements — Officer Tim Brandenburg, after 23 years, and Officer Charles Lee after 34 years of service. 

Civilian staff hires — Mona Varela and Lindsey Ellison as police services generalists in the records bureau.

Volunteers in Police Services — Charles Lee, Brian Cady and Sara Palcynzski 

Also, Jarrad Cockshoot has returned home after a year long deployment with the U.S. Army Reserve and will be assigned to the patrol division.
