For Black History Month, the leader of the Iowa African American Historic Preservation Network will discuss the first 100 years of black history in Davenport.

The discussion, which is free, is scheduled from 1-3 p.m. Feb. 27 at the Davenport Public Library, 321 N. Main St.

Charles Pearson, the project director for the network, has studied black history in Davenport for five years and will provide information about his efforts to establish a black history heritage trail in Davenport.
