Dick Brown is now the 4th Ward alderman in Moline.

Mayor Don Welvaert appointed Brown to the seat to fill the unexpired term of Ted Ronk, who resigned in January in order to retire and relocate. Brown has lived in the Illinois Quad-Cities since 1970 and is a lieutenant for the Moline Fire Department where he has been a member since 1987.

“Dick Brown is enthusiastic, committed and involved in this community,” Welvaert said in a news release issued by the city. “As he is the sole candidate for the 4th Ward in the upcoming April election, it was a natural decision to appoint him just a few months early. The residents of Moline will be well represented with Alderman Brown on the City Council.”

Brown said he supports strong public safety, efficient municipal services and community health and wellness.
