The city of East Moline began a pavement patching and reconstruction project on 47th Avenue between 7th and 9th streets Wednesday.

During construction, 47th Avenue will be closed to through traffic but will remain open to local traffic to maintain access to residences during construction. The preliminary work has begun, and the street closure is scheduled to be implemented next week. The project is scheduled for completion in October.

The contractor will coordinate with homeowners regarding any necessary temporary parking and special access to residences ahead of time as construction proceeds.
