Davenport police have released the name of a man who died late Monday in a three-vehicle crash.

Ryan Michael Ball, 23, of East Moline, was killed when his vehicle crashed head-on into a pickup truck.

Police said the crash occurred at 10:24 p.m. in the 1800 block of East 53rd Street.

Ball was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo in the eastbound lanes of East 53rd Street when his car struck the left rear of a 2012 Honda Accord driven by Monica Forret, 47, of Davenport.

Ball’s vehicle then went into the westbound lanes, where it collided head-on with a 1998 Ford F150 pickup driven by Wenhua Guo, 44, of Davenport,

Police said that Ball, who has a lengthy record of driving offenses in Rock Island and Scott counties, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Guo and his passenger, Di Zhang, 30, of Davenport, were taken to Genesis Medical Center-East Rusholme Street, Davenport, for treatment of what police described as serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation, with autopsy and toxicology results pending, police said.
