An Eldridge man has been charged with sexual abuse involving a minor.

James Edward Hall, 74, was arrested Wednesday and charged with five counts of 3rd degree sexual abuse, a class C felony, and 1 count of sexual exploitation of a minor, a class D felony.

Eldridge police officers and a Scott County Sheriff’s detective who is a member of the Iowa Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) began a joint investigation after a complaint by a 16-year-old juvenile of on-going inappropriate sexual acts recently taking place against the juvenile.

At about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Eldridge police officers, Scott County Sheriff’s detectives and a Davenport Police Department computer forensic detective who is also a member of the ICAC Task Force, executed a search warrant at a residence in Eldridge, according to a press release from the Scott County Sheriff’s Office.

Upon completion of the warrant execution and interviews, Hall was taken into custody. He was taken to the Scott County Jail where he was released on a $52,000.00 bond.

The case remains under further investigation.
