The Iowa Energy Center’s Speaker Series is offering a free event on Wednesday, Nov. 11 with a reception at 3:30 p.m., followed by a presentation at 4 p.m. at Scott Community College, Room 1501, 500 Belmont Road, Bettendorf.

The featured speaker is Carol Werner, executive director of the Environmental and Energy Study Institute (EESI) and she will speak on Energy: Why our Choices Matter.

Werner has more than 30 years of public policy experience on energy and environmental issues. She has also organized dozens of congressional briefings on science, technology and policy issues and has been a frequent speaker at conferences and workshops. Her appearance is a cooperative effort between the Iowa Energy Center and Eastern Iowa Community Colleges’ Advanced Technology Environmental and Energy Center (ATEEC).

The Iowa Energy Center supports economic growth through collaborative projects that bring sustainable energy technologies closer to market and by providing Iowans with reliable, objective information on energy and efficiency options.
