Several farm-related groups have donated 4,583 pounds of ground pork to River Bend Foodbank, Moline.

The donation was part of the Pork Power: Partnering to Fight Hunger in Illinois campaign by the Illinois Pork Producers Association, Illinois Corn Marketing Board and Illinois Soybean Association.

The pork, which will provide 17,000 servings, will go to more than 300 hunger-relief organizations in 22 counties in Iowa and Illinois.

The meat is part of a larger donation of more than 38,000 pounds of ground pork to eight regional foodbanks associated with Feeding Illinois during September Hunger Action month and October Pork Month.
