Davenport firefighters continue to investigate the cause of a fire that damaged a single-family home Friday night.

The fire at 3405 Adams St. was reported at 9:15 p.m.

Smoke and flames were coming out of the home when firefighters arrived, the fire department said.

The fire was contained to the rear of the home and was quickly knocked down, the fire department said. 

The American Red Cross of the Quad-Cities Area is assisting one adult from the home with emergency shelter and other needs.

No one was injured, and no damage estimate has been released.

The fire remains under investigation by the Davenport Fire Marshal.
