MAQUOKETA, Iowa - A house was damaged by fire Tuesday afternoon in Maquoketa.

Two tenants live in the house at South Eliza and Judson streets but were not home when the fire was reported at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday. Smoke was billowing from the roof and attic area of the home, owned by Karen and Dan Breitbach of Maquoketa.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Firefighters vented several places in the side and roof of the house. The Andrew Fire Department was called to provide assistance in putting out the fire.
