Four Illinois Quad-City men with felony convictions are now facing federal firearms charges.

Pierce Raynard Davis, 23; Stacy Taurice Smith, 27; and Devin Jacob Johnson, 31, all of Rock Island, and Cory Lamar Butler, 28, of Silvis, are each charged with one count of being a felony in possession of a firearm.

They made their first appearances Friday in U.S. District Court, Rock Island, before U.S. Magistrate Judge Thomas Shields.

Shields ordered them held pending detention hearings scheduled for Oct. 10 in Rock Island federal court.

Davis is charged with possession of a .380-caliber handgun on Aug. 15.

Smith is charged with possession of a .40-caliber handgun on Aug. 24.

Johnson is charged with possession of a 9mm handgun on Aug. 12.

Butler is charged with possession a pistol and ammunition on Feb. 29.

The FBI’s Quad-Cities Federal Gang Task Force investigated the charges with the assistance of the Rock Island and East Moline police departments.

If convicted, each man faces a prison sentence of up to 10 years.

There is no parole in the federal system.
