The German American Heritage Center is hosting the “Saloon & Liquor Trade of Davenport and Scott County (1846-1933)” program at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, at 712 W. 2nd St., Davenport.

Scholar Mike Burggraaf’s presentation will consist of an overview of the liquor trade in Davenport and the various prohibition attempts in Iowa. Burggraaf will utilize his newly published book for the outline of the presentation and will also have actual historical items on display, including photos, postcards, jugs, bottles, shot glasses and more.
