Former state Rep. Linda Miller of Bettendorf is ready to take over as the leader of the Iowa Department on Aging.

The Iowa Senate voted 49-0 on Wednesday to confirm Miller, who was appointed to the position by Gov. Terry Branstad in December. She chose not to run for re-election last year, and her seat in the Iowa House is now held by Rep. Gary Mohr, R-Bettendorf.
