Bill Gustafson, whose gaming career started in the Quad-Cities, has been named vice president and general manager of Davenport’s Rhythm City Casino, Isle of Capri announced Friday.

Gustafson’s appointment is effective immediately, although is pending approval by the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission. He was security supervisor when the Diamond Lady had its inaugural voyage from Bettendorf in 1991.

Most recently, Gustafson was vice president and general manager of Lady Luck Casino in Marquette, Iowa, also an Isle of Capri property. He replaces Mo Hyder who took a position with a New Orleans gaming operation.

Gustafson has been with the Isle of Capri for more than 20 years, working in Mississippi, Louisiana and Colorado before returning to Iowa in 2005 when he became senior director of operations at the Isle of Capri, Bettendorf.

“Bill brings tremendous insight of Isle’s business needs and proven leadership skills to the role of general manager in Davenport,” said Doug Burkhalter, senior vice president, Lady Luck operations. “Bill also has strong roots to the community, which we consider a valuable asset to our team.”
