Habitat for Humanity Quad-Cities will dedicate a house to Rita Ramos and her family Dec. 8. The celebration will begin at 10 a.m., with the Ramos family receiving the keys to their home at 6604 Hoover Road, Davenport. More than 500 volunteers helped to build the home. Rita’s house was also the site of the 2012 Lowes Women Build Week. Habitat House #76 was sponsored by Scott County Housing Council, Habitat 500-Gordon Fordyce, Duncan Cameron Foundation, Wells Fargo, Cargill and Habitat ReStore.

Rita worked more than 450 hours of sweat equity at Habitat, almost double the minimum of 250 hours required. She also attended classes on home ownership and financial responsibility. The house will be purchased with a no-interest loan.
