The American Red Cross of the Quad-Cities Area is assisting three adults after a fire Sunday afternoon on the 1400 block of East Pleasant Street in Davenport.
Shortly before 4 p.m., Davenport firefighters arrived at a 1 1/2-story home where a fire had broken out. No residents were home at the time, but two dogs were inside and were safely removed.
The fire was knocked down quickly, firefighters said. The occupants could not stay in the home because of extensive fire and smoke damage.
No cause for the fire had been determined Sunday night, and it remains under investigation.
