MAQUOKETA, Iowa — The KMAQ Farm and Home Show will be from 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Pearson Memorial Center, Maquoketa. Admission is free.

Highlights for Wednesday include the music of Frankie Brandt from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pork burgers will be served at 11 a.m. and again at 5 p.m.

There will be mini seminars on perennial plants, insects and diseases, turning manure into money, houseplants and preparing for spring seeds. The main stage speaker at noon will be Lois White, director of consumer affairs for the Iowa Egg Council.

The Big House Band will provide music from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

More than 30 exhibitors are planned, and there are hourly drawings.

On Thursday, Red Henton will provide music in the morning. Beef burgers will be served.

Mini seminars include local foods, beef issues following the drought, limited space gardening and new bloomers. The main stage speaker will be Julie Delaney from Irish Meadows Alpaca Farm. Winners of the Friends of Agriculture awards will be announced at 12:30 p.m.

The evening entertainment will be Judy Buntmeyer.
