Junior League of the Quad-Cities will host its fifth annual “I AM Strong" 5K Mudventure race at Case Creek Obstacle Course, 7625 120th Ave., Coal Valley, beginning at 7:40 a.m. Saturday.

The race is open only to female participants as part of the Junior League's "I AM" initiative toward improving the self-image and perception of women and girls.

Packet pick-up is available from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily through Friday at Active Endeavors, 3950 Elmore Ave., Davenport. The race route will be provided at this time.

Registration is $65 for competitive and recreational racers and walkers. This includes the race entry fee, swag bag, event T-shirt, awards ceremony, snacks and drinks. To register, visit www.jlqc.org

A portion of the proceeds will benefit QC Closet2Closet.

Participants ages 18 and older may select from eight separate waves of racers, beginning with a mandatory kick-off meeting at 7:40 a.m. or 8:50 a.m. on race day.

The Mudventure course combines mud racing with 20 obstacles, such as tire-flips, rope-pulls and balance challenges. Costume contest prizes will be awarded to the top three competitive division finishers.

A post-race party will begin at about 11 a.m. at Mulligan’s Valley Pub, 310 W. 1st Ave., Coal Valley, with music, free food and beer.
