A 65-year-old Illinois City man died in a single-vehicle crash Monday night.

Rock Island County sheriff’s Sgt. Tim Chastain said a 2008 Toyota pickup driven by Charles A. Stuebe was westbound on 78th Avenue West (Illinois 92), about 3 miles from Andalusia.

Stuebe lost control of the pickup about 10 p.m. in the 16500 block of 78th Avenue.

The vehicle crossed over into the eastbound lanes and entered the ditch on the south side of the roadway. The pickup rolled one time.

Stuebe, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Rock Island County Coroner’s Office.

The crash remains under investigation by the Rock Island County Sheriff’s Department.
