Two California men were injured when the semi they were in left Interstate 74 and crashed into an overpass north of Galesburg, Ill.
Driver Kenneth O. Berry, 54, of Carmichael, Calif., and passenger Mario A. Morgan, 51, of Turlock, Calif., had to be cut out of the tractor portion of the semi by Galesburg firefighters, according to an Illinois State Police news release.
They were transported from the scene for treatment of undisclosed injuries. At least one of the men was seriously injured, according to the release.
State Police said the semi was eastbound on I-74 near mile marker 42 at 3:05 p.m. Thursday when it crossed over the right shoulder and struck a guardrail. The semi went through the guardrail, into the right ditch and up an embankment, striking the underside of the 2200 North overpass.
