The future of forestry management in eastern Iowa will be discussed from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Davenport Library Eastern Avenue Branch, 6000 Eastern Ave.
The forestry division of the Iowa Department of Natural Resources has been dissolved to offset a $1.2 million reduction in the department's budget. Eight positions have been eliminated, but other duties have been transferred within the department.
The speaker will be Dave Bridges, district forester for the region that includes Scott, Clinton, Cedar and Jackson counties.
His talk is the July forum of the Partners of Scott County Watersheds. Lunch is available for a $5 donation. To RSVP, email to firstname.lastname@example.org, or call 563-391-1403, Ext. 3.
