A 61-year-old Letts, Iowa, woman was sentenced to five years in federal prison Thursday for conspiring to distribute methamphetamine.

During a hearing in U.S. District Court, Davenport, Shannon Lee Wroe also was sentenced to serve two years on supervised release after she completes her prison term.

Wroe and her co-defendants conspired to distribute methamphetamine from November 2008 through November 2011.

Wroe distributed quarter-pound to half-pound quantities of methamphetamine to her co-conspirators during three years, according to a federal court news release.

There is no parole in the federal prison system.
