The Bettendorf Public Library, 2950 Learning Campus Drive, will present Bethann Heidgerken’s “Modern Americana,” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, as part of the Trax from the Stax program.

Trax from the Stax is a music listening program, funded by the Friends of the Bettendorf Public Library. The music events takes place on the third Thursday of the month.

Heidgerken is a singer-songwriter whose compositions are heavily influenced by Americana music. During the event, she will play some of her favorites on guitar and ukulele.

The genre, which incorporates country, folk, and blues, will also be discussed and artists such as Gillian Welch, Allison Kraus and The Punch Brothers will be explored. Trax from the Stax programs provide the opportunity to share interest and enthusiasm for different types of music and to expose people to new types of music and artists.
