Lock and Dam tours offered this summer: The Mississippi River Project will hold public tours on weekends between Memorial Day and Labor Day at various lock and dam facilities along the river. The tours will last an hour and cover river history, lock and dam operation, towboats, barges, cargo, river hazards and more. Tours are dependent on weather conditions and staff availability. Tour size is limited to 20 people and enclosed shoes are required. No camera or cellphone use will be allowed and all bags must be left in vehicles. Rock Camp USA looking for applicants: The River Music Experience is looking for applicants for its annual Rock Camp USA. The camp is offered in three, two-week sessions, June 3-14, June 17-28 and July 8-19, each culminating with its own concert. The program features intensive performance-oriented instruction given by professional area musicians and instructors. The camp costs $425 and a deposit of $225 is due 30 days before the session begins. Need-based financial assistance is available. Bettendorf Park Band starts concert series June 7

Bettendorf Park Band concerts will be held at 7:30 p.m. Fridays in Veterans Memorial Park beginning June 7. Performances alternate between the Bettendorf Park Band and a guest band.
