Remember back in the day piling into the station wagon and taking a cruise through Davenport Memorial Park to see the lighted Christmas display that told the story of the birth of Jesus?
A stream of cars would snake through the cemetery at night so families could see the large, colorful plywood images of Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus, the wise men and angels.
It was an annual rite for many of us growing up and is etched into our minds along with a collection of many other holiday memories and traditions we hold dear.
Ah, the days of Christmas past. But it does seem a little weird driving through the cemetery at night.
