MUSCATINE — A 53-year-old Muscatine man was sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of lascivious acts with a child.

Keith Langfitt was sentenced Friday during a hearing in Muscatine County District Court.

Muscatine County District Judge Thomas Reidel sentenced Langfitt to two 10-year prison terms to run consecutively.

Lascivious acts with a child is a Class C felony under Iowa law that carries a 10-year prison sentence.

An investigation by the Muscatine Police Department showed that Langfitt had sexual contact with a child younger than the age of 12.

Langfitt was ordered to be transported to the Iowa Medical and Classification Center in Coralville to start his prison sentence.

Langfitt had been charged with three counts of second-degree sex abuse before making his plea agreement. That’s a Class B felony under Iowa law that carries a prison sentence of 25 years.
