GRAND MOUND, Iowa — The Iowa State Patrol has released the identity of the man killed Thursday in Clinton County when his car collided with a semitrailer. 

Austin Richard Blount, 31, of Camanche was westbound on U.S. 30 when his car crossed the center line and crashed into an eastbound semitrailer, Iowa State Patrol trooper Dan Loussaert said. 

Blount died of his injuries. 

The crash occurred shortly before 3 p.m. about 2 miles west of Grand Mound. 

Loussaert did not say whether the driver of the semitrailer, James R. Davis, 37, suffered any injuries. 

The crash remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
