The Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center plans to expand its reach and capacity by welcoming Quad-Citians outside of Rock Island to join its board of directors. Currently, the King Center by-laws do not allow anyone but Rock Island residents to serve on its board of directors.

The community is invited to learn more and to provide feedback about this action at a meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Ida Robinson banquet room at the center, 630 9th St., Rock Island.

To be more inclusive and representational of its supporters and users, the board will allow up to three Quad-Citians living outside Rock Island to be board members.
