Leaf collection for the city of Moline will begin Monday. Yard waste bag stickers are not required from Oct. 15 to Dec. 14. Leaves and grass clippings must be placed in biodegradable bags that are available at local retailers. Yard waste bags will be picked up on scheduled garbage collection days. Crews will perform leaf vacuuming from Oct. 15 through Nov. 30, weather permitting. During this time, residents may rake leaves to the boulevard, but not on the roadway surface. The city is divided into three areas, and crews will be working in each area Monday through Friday, beginning at the Mississippi River and working their way south to the Rock River. Crews will begin working at the location they ended the previous day. Beginning Monday, residents can visit www.moline.il.us for a map showing the daily location or call the leaf hotline at 309-524-2407 to listen to a pre-recorded message.
