Tonight there is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Skies will be mostly cloudy with a low around 42 degrees. East winds will be around 10 mph.

Wednesday there is a 90 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. New rainfall amounts could be between three quarters and one inch. The high will be near 57 degrees. East winds will be around 15 mph with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Wednesday nigh there is a 100 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. New rainfall amounts could be between three quarters and one inch. Some storms could produce heavy rainfall. The low will be around 53.

Here is a look at area river levels:

The Mississippi River at Lock and Dam 15 in Rock Island was at 14.16 feet this morning. Flood stage is 15. The river is forecast to reach 15.7 feet by Sunday afternoon.

The Rock River at Moline was at 11.82 feet this morning. Flood stage is 12 feet. The river is expected to drop to 11.8 feet this afternoon.

The Rock River near Joslin, Ill., was at 13.37 feet this morning. Flood stage is 12 feet. The river is forecast to drop to 13.3 feet by this afternoon.

The Mississippi River at Muscatine, Iowa, was at 15.12 feet this morning. Flood stage is 16 feet. The river is forecast to reach 17 feet by Monday morning.

In DeWitt, the Wapsipinicon River is at 10.8 feet this morning. Flood stage is 11 feet. The river is expected to rise above flood stage today and crest at 11.5 feet Saturday night.

The City of Davenport reports that South Concord Street has been closed to traffic between River Drive and Wapello Avenue because of flooding.

Access to businesses located along Wapello and River Drive West of Wapello are expected to remain accessible through the weekend.

High water signs are in place the entire length of South Concord Street between Utah Avenue and River Drive. As waters rise, other areas to the west along South Concord may be closed between Wapello and Utah.

Drivers are advised to be cautious when driving in these areas for the next week.

Residents along South Concord and Enchanted Island may pick up sand bags at the parking lot of the Enchanted Inn.

Residents in areas affected by river stages at 13 feet to 15 feet may also contact Public Works at 326-7923 to make a request for sand bags.

Solid waste services to residents in areas closed to local traffic along Wapello and South Concord will not be impacted by the current river stage.
