KJ’s Mustache Challenge will raise money for the Child Abuse Council.

Participants resist shaving from Thanksgiving until Dec. 22, collecting donations along the way, culminating with The Mustache Challenge’s Pub Crawl on Dec. 22.

Kickoff parties will be held Thursday at The Landing in downtown Moline, and Oct. 18 at Pints on Utica Ridge Road, Davenport, both from  5:30-7:30 p.m. The public is invited.

All donations will benefit the Child Abuse Council’s “Talking About Touching” program, which teaches young children about appropriate and inappropriate touch and what to do if inappropriate touching takes place.

Pledge sheet pickup and donations are welcome at the parties or online at www.kjmustachechallenge.org or www.childabuseqc.org.

The fundraiser is in memory of Mustache Challenge founder Kyle John of Moline, who died in 2008 at age 27 after a five-year battle against Ewings sarcoma. His close friends have continued the challenge in celebration of his spirit and charitable heart.
