Donna Young, sculptor and co-owner of Isabel Bloom shows her shows off the bodice she designed called “The Power of Paisley” on display at the Isabel Bloom store on Federal Street in Davenport. The NormaLeah Ovarian Cancer Initiative is expanding its ovarian cancer awareness and education efforts with the help of local artists and businesses through The Bodice Project, in which 24 bodices, each designed by a different area artist, will be on display at 24 sites around the Quad-Cities through Sept. 20.

NormaLeah Ovarian Cancer Initiative is expanding its ovarian cancer awareness and education efforts with the help of Quad-City artist Donna Young and Isabel Bloom.

On Saturday, Isabel Bloom will host NormaLeah Day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at its studio and showroom located at 736 Federal St., Davenport.

In appreciation of those who support NormaLeah, the public is invited to attend a free day of crafts, ice cream courtesy of Vibrant Credit Union, and raffles.

Winged Beauty, a teal butterfly sculpture created by Young to support NormaLeah’s education programs, will be available for purchase. Young will sign sculptures purchased at the event or previously purchased.

NormaLeah Ovarian Cancer Initiative, headquartered in Rock Island, enriches lives through early detection education, patient support services and research funding for ovarian cancer. The organization honors the memory of Norma Yecies Shagrin and Leah Yecies Hantman, whose lives were cut short by ovarian cancer.
