ROCK ISLAND -- Alice J. Pilcher, 85, of Rock Island, passed away Tuesday May 16, 2017, at St. Anthony's Nursing and Rehab, Rock Island.
A graveside memorial service will be 10 a.m. Monday at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, those wishing to attend are to meet at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island.
Alice Jeanette Boyd was born in Moline on June 17, 1931, to Ethel Harbert Boyd and Emmert Boyd. Alice graduated Rock Island High School in 1948 and attended Augustana College.
Alice married Richard Pilcher on August 6, 1949, in Denver, Colorado. They lived in Los Angeles, while Richard attended and graduated from Fred Archer School of Photography. They returned to Rock Island to raise a family.
Alice was part owner of Pilcher's Print Shop. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, camping, and traveled to all 48 lower U.S. states.
Survivors include her son, Bill; adopted son, Virgil Mayberry; adopted granddaughter, Tiffany Wicall McDaniel; and great grandchildren, Autumn and Sydney Erichsen.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, in 2003; parents, Ethel Harbert Boyd and Emmert Boyd; two infant brothers; and her sister, Kathryn Boyd Wavrin.
