DAVENPORT — Barbara Annette James, 44, of Davenport, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Barbara was born May 19, 1972, in Davenport, to Kenneth and Donna (Stanton) James. She graduated in 1990 from West High School. She worked for a time as a cook at Mac’s Tavern. She later worked as a delivery driver for the family business, KC Enterprises, for many years. Most recently, Barb worked as a CNA for Accurate Home Health Care.

Barb was baptized following faith in Christ at First Christian Church in New Sharon, Iowa. She enjoyed working with her clients and handicapped children. She loved her family and had been a scout leader for her nieces and nephews. Barb always liked to learn new things. She enjoyed being with friends, Gilda’s Club, camping, traveling and her dog, Mocha.

Barbie will be missed by her mother, Donna; her brothers, Brian and Brad; a niece, Meghan, all of Davenport; and many other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her father and a nephew, Justin James.

The family will receive relatives and friends 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, Iowa. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 26, 2016, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Davenport, with the Rev. Travis Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at McCausland Cemetery.
